Regina, I did a similar AFL poject this year at the elementary level and found that when students define their goals concretely and make specific plans for reaching them, they are more likely to stick to it. They certainly have to take ownership of what they want to improve, and they learn that the locus of control truly lies within them. Isn't that our ultimate goal as counselors? I love the chart! It's a great visual aid for your students and makes them accountable for change.

Welcome to Assessment FOR Learning. Thanks for joining!

Please take a moment to introduce yourself by replying to the Introductions Forum. Also, I would suggest clicking on the "Read 1st" tab at the top of the main page. This could give you some good ideas for using this site.

Feel free to add any ideas, blog posts, forum discussions, or videos that you think would be helpful to people as they are considering AFL in their classroom/schools.

If you have ideas for content that should be added, feel free to let me know.

Thanks again!
