This photo was taken of a task analysis checklist used in Erik Largen's class at Salem High School. He, in turn, borrowed it from another educator. The goal is to teach a student how to independently take off his coat and hang it up. The method - while quite basic and obvious - exemplifies what AFL/SBL is all about. Assess a student based on standards they need to master, use the data to guide instruction and to guide the student, and then reassess to see how well students mastered the concept. Learning here is WAY more important than grading.
