  • Non-AFL----teachers count all grades as the same, basing grades on discipline

AFL--on-going assessment and practice, exit slips, quick checks, whiteboards to check for understanding
  • AFL doesn't occur many times at the college level. It also has been our experience that AFL diminshs at the high school level.

  • CTE lends itself well to using assessments as practice. Practical skills are often practiced/performed for immediate feedback from the teacher so that technique can be improved.
  • Teachers give too many grades to justify that they are teaching "properly" which creates negativity.
